Self Connecting Passengers
Self connecting passengers are those passengers who are travelling on two or more connecting flights which were booked separately to each other and have independent tickets. From an aviation standpoint, these flights are regarded as separate journeys (point to point flights).
If you are travelling as a self-connecting passenger please follow guidelines below:
Self connecting with checked in baggage
- Please proceed to the baggage hall to retrieve your bags, and exit the baggage hall.
- The Flight Information Display Screens in arrivals will display your flight and which terminal you depart from.
- Terminals 1 and 2 are linked and within a 5 minute walk of each other, and are clearly signposted.
- Proceed to departures to check-in with your airline and then proceed to security to process through to the gate areas.
Self connecting with hand baggage only
- If arriving into Terminal 2, please follow signs for Flight Connections.
- If arriving into Terminal 1, between the hours of 06:00hrs – 13:00hrs, please follow signs for Flight Connections.
- Outside of these hours, please exit the baggage hall and proceed to the security area upstairs to process through to the gate areas.
Flight Connection FAQs
Self-connecting passengers travelling with hand baggage only, can use the flight connection facilities, as outlined above. If you have checked in baggage you will be unable to use the flight connection facility. You will need to collect your baggage and proceed to check in for your next flight.
